Jane Kitovitz

Jane Kitovitz began writing at an early age. She had her first piece published aged seven, a letter to Bunty, for which she won a table tennis set. More recently she won the playwrighting category in a competition run by Liverpool Libraries as part of the Liverpool Festival of Comedy, where one of the judges was Jimmy McGovern. She was also joint winner of Writing on the Wall’s Pulp Fiction competition with the first chapter of her children’s novel The Illuminated Manuscript.

She has lived in Oxford, London, Paris and Liverpool, and worked variously as a waitress, chambermaid, nanny, teacher, recruitment consultant, youth adviser, bank clerk, training assistant at Citizen’s Advice and general office dogsbody.

She likes hot air balloons, Concorde, and space rockets.
